A cruise with the mouse is at the top of the wish list for many.
You may have heard about the beautiful ships, Broadway quality shows, character experiences and that undefinable Disney magic.
But how much does a Disney cruise cost?
Many see it as prohibitive, and certainly the base cost of a Disney cruise is more often than a Carnival or Royal Caribbean cruise.

However, there are many misconceptions about the cost, scope, and overall experience of sailing a Disney ship.
So let's take a look at how much a Disney cruise costs and learn more about the Disney ship experience, where to go and how you can sail for less than you thought.
Oh, and we'll tell you how much, tooDisney's most expensive dream suiteCost for the New Year 2024!
What's included?
Before we go into more detail about how much it costs to take a Disney cruise, it's important to start with what's actually included in the "base price" that you pay.
These are the things included in your Disney cruise:
- Accommodation in the cabin
- Eat in the main restaurants
- Fast food and snack service
- Soft drinks, tea and coffee on the terrace and in the dining rooms
- Room service (some items are chargeable)
- Broadway style entertainment
- Greetings from Disney Characters
- Children's clubs for children from 6 months to 17 years
- Swimming pools and recreation, including exclusive adult areas
- Films including first releases
- Family activities that include trivia workshops, arts and crafts and animation
What is not included?
Most things are included in the price, but here are items that incur an additional fee.
- training costs
- spa treatment
- Tropical jungle room
- Adult specialty restaurants in Palo, Remy and Enchante
- Alcoholic drinks
- All drinks ordered at the bar
- Drinks tastings
- Special coffee
- Choose snacks and desserts
- trips to the beach
- Internet
- Memories
- Flight ticket and all transportation and transfers to the port
- travel insurance
When I looked at it, it seemed like a pretty long list, but it really isn't, as you can opt-out of purchasing most of them if you wish.
What I want to explain here because I know it causes the most confusion isTips, often referred to as tips.

There are certain crew members on a Disney cruise, and indeed most cruise lines, who pay the majority of their paychecks in tips.
DCL provides guidance on the minimum tip each guest of any age should leave. They're automatically charged to your account, but you can adjust them up or down.
The vast majority of Disney Cruise Line cast members are exceptional. Tips are important to them.
If you would like more information about tipping on a Disney cruise, including who you can tip and which cast members cannot tip, check out this guide:

How Much Does WiFi Cost on a Disney Cruise?
Another fee that many guests want to know more about is Wi-Fi fees on Disney ships.
This has recently changed (much for the better) and we have a guide for you too.

What Affects the Cost of a Disney Cruise?
The only way to answer the question is to recognize that there are a number of factors that affect the price of a Disney cruise.
The most important are:
- Which Disney cruise are you on?
- How long is the cruise?
- Which cabin do you want?
- What dates will you be sailing on your Disney cruise?
- How many guests are in your stateroom?
How much does a Disney cruise cost per person?
When many cruise lines publish their cruise prices, they quote them at a price per person.
Some, like Carnival Cruise Line, publish a price per person per day.
Disney publishes prices showing the cost for 2 people including taxes and fees. This appears to be a much more accurate way of showing the cost as that is what you are actually paying for your cabin.
For all prices we show here, consider the price for 2 passengers in a cabin.
Most cruise lines do not have a single traveler discount, and Disney is no exception.
Even if you only have one person in your cabinpay exactly the same price as if there were two.
Even if you have an adult and a child in a cabin, they will be charged the same price as two adults.
Many Disney cruises accommodate 3 or 4 people. A limited number of cabins can accommodate 5 people.
After calculating the cost for two adults, the third, fourth and fifth person in the same cabin pay a reduced price.
Child rates apply to children aged 3-12 years.
Young people from 13 to 17 years pay the adult price.
A lower rate applies to babies under 3 years old.
How many cruises does Disney have?
Disney Cruise Line currently has five ships:
- Disney-Magie
- Disney-Wunder
- Disney dream
- Fantasy Disney
- Disney wish
The fleet is growing rapidly and will include the Disney Treasure, which is being built at Meyer Werft in Germany and is due to be launched in summer 2024.
The newest ship in the Triton class is also slated for launch in 2025. This as yet unnamed Disney ship is in the same class as Wish and the Treasure.
Disney also took the surprising step of purchasing a ship that was nearing completion. The Global Dream was 80% complete when her original owner filed for bankruptcy.
Disney stepped in to buy Global Dream for €40 million. This "bargain price" is remarkable considering the original investment was reportedly in the region of $1 billion.

To a certain extent, the price of your cruise depends on which Disney ship you choose to sail on.
At the moment,The newest ship is Disney Wish.
You're likely to pay more per night for your Disney Cruise when you sail with Disney Wish.
This new DLC ship is very popular and many of the releases are completely sold out.
Let's see some prices.
Whenever we talk about the cost of a Disney cruise in this guideWe look at prices today, March 10, 2023that was when this was first published.
All prices shown are for 2 people and include port fees and taxes.
Disney Wish offers 3 and 4 night Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida.
All Disney Wish cruises call at Disney Port very oftenpopular private island Castaway Cay.
Here are some June 2023 prices for a 3-night Disney Wish Cruise:
- Port Canaveral, Florida
- Nassau
- lost key
- Port Canaveral, Florida

per night | 485,83 $ | 512,83 $ | 539,83 $ | 905,33 $ |
If you look at these prices, you will see that, with the exception of concierge cabins, they vary somewhat depending on the cabin and dates.
We'll come back to the price of Disney Concierge booths, but for now let's just say that they're popular, especially on Disney Wish.
Disney Concierge Staterooms sell out fast and you pay a very high premium for a Veranda Stateroom. This is usually at least double the price and can be a lot more.
As of June 2023, 3-night Wish Voyages average prices per night per person are:
- $478.17 for an inside cabin
- $508.83 for an outside cabin
- $537.83 for a porch cabin
These are all average prices for the cheapest cabin in this category; there will be other cabins with higher prices.
However, we can see here how the date affects the price of a Disney cruise.
Certain times are more popular and in demand, e.g. B. School holidays and public holidays.
If you look at how much Disney Wish costs vary throughout December, you'll see that the obvious reason is that more people want to sail around the holidays than early and mid-December.
December 1, 2023 | Within | Meerblick | Veranda | Porter |
2.297 $ | $2.441 | 2.573 $ | 5.603 $

For early to mid-December 2023, the average prices for 3-night Wish Voyages per night per person are:
- $393.83 for an inside cabin
- $420.17 for an outside cabin
- $446.17 for a Veranda cabin
You can see this is almost $100 cheaper per person per night than the average cost to sail on Wish in June 2023.
However, looking at the day after Christmas, prices increase significantly:
- $630.50 for an inside cabin
- $637.83 for an outside cabin
- $686.83 for a Veranda cabin
We can also see how the number of sailing days affects the cost of a Disney cruise.
A simple side-by-side comparison is to look at and compare Disney Wish's 3-night and 4-night itineraries.
Although the total cost will be higher, does it make more sense to take a 4 night cruise on the Wish because it offers better value per night?
Let's look at this theory.
For Disney Wish, the answer seems to be no.
5. June 2023 | Within | Meerblick | Veranda | Porter |
$3.947 | 4.283 $ | 4.883 $ | 26.563 $
per night | $493 | $535 | $610 | $3.320 |
12. June 2023 | Within | Meerblick | Veranda | Porter |
3.995 $ | 4.379 $ | 4.819 $ | Not available
per night | $499 | $547 | $602 | Not available |
19. June 2023 | Within | Meerblick | Veranda | Porter |
4.011 $ | 4.203 $ | 4.691 $ | Not available
per night | $501 | $525 | $586 | Not available |
26. June 2023 | Within | Meerblick | Veranda | Porter |
$4.107 | 4.363 $ | 5.139 $ | Not available
per night | $513 | $545 | $624 | Not available |
As of June 2023, the average prices for 4-night Wish Voyages per night per person are:
- $501.87 for an inside cabin
- $538.37 for an outside cabin
- $610.37 for a Veranda cabin
Looking at Wish prices as of June 2023, it appears that thethe price per night is higher for the 4 nightsthat for the 3 nights.
We'll discuss this theory later in this guide for the other Disney ships, but always look at the price per night and total cost when comparing different cruises.
And if,One ship is definitely more expensive than the others.
Spoiler alert: It's Disney Wish.

Essentials for Traveling on a Disney Cruise: The Ultimate Guide to Packing
Where do Disney cruises depart from and how does this affect costs?
When many people think of Disney Cruises, they think of Florida.
While many Disney cruises depart from Port Canaveral, Miami and Fort Lauderdale, as the fleet continues to expand, there is a whole new world of homeports for Disney ships.
Here are some of the Disney cruise ports being offered in 2023 and 2024:
- Auckland, New Zealand
- Barcelona, Spain
- Brisbane, Australia
- Civitavecchia (Rom) Italy
- Copenhagen, Denmark
- Fort Lauderdale, Florida
- Galveston, Texas
- Melbourne, Australia
- Miami, Florida
- Nueva Orleans, Louisiana
- Port Canaveral, Florida
- San Diego, California
- Southampton, Inglaterra
- Sydney, Australia
- Vancouver, Canada
The home port and cruise itinerary make the difference in the cost of a Disney cruise.
It can make a big difference in cost.
Especially on new itineraries such as Disney Wonder Voyages departing from Australia and New Zealand, this can result in the price per night being higher than on older, more established routes.
Let's look at the cost of a Disney cruise from Australia and New Zealand.
These itineraries are brand new to Disney Cruise Line from October 2023 to February 2024. They were very popular as many dates sold out immediately after their release.
If you want to see the pricing pattern and how it has changed since the day the first Australia and New Zealand cruises launched, check out the guide:
Disney Cruise Prices in Australia and New Zealand: How Much Do They Cost?
But for the sake of this guide, here are a few examples of how the nightly price of one of these hugely popular Disney Wonder trips compares to others in the fleet.
Let's take this 4-night cruise as our first example:

Here is an example of how availability and prices may change as the departure date approaches.

Disney Bahamian Wish | $322 | $350 | $394 |
Disney Wonder Sydney Round Trip | 247,87 $ | $282 | 345,75 $ |
What is the most expensive Disney suite?
Now we all like to dream, so I thought I'd add some details to the most expensive suite on a Disney ship.
Yes, you guessed it.
The most expensive Disney Concierge Suite is on Disney Wish.
The Tower Suite offers almost 2.00 square feet in a unique location in one of the Disney Wish funnels.
This huge concierge suite sleeps 8 people.
If you want to enjoy this unique space you need to arrive very early. The Tower Suite on the Wish is typically reserved on the first day sailings are offered.
Prices I've seen range from $21,000 to $35,000, but if you want to ring in the New Year on Disney Wish in the ship's best suite, you'll need to spend at least $47,403 for 2 guests for the 4 nights .
This was the opening day price for Disney Wish New Years travel 2024 when booking a concierge cabin or suite.

Again, this shows the cost of a Disney Alaskan Cruise on opening day and now the prices if you booked in March 2023.
It makes for an interesting read.
As you can see, prices haven't really increased since they launched in May 2022.
It will be interesting to see if they appear closer to the release date.

The prices are valid from March 10, 2023 and are as usual for 2 people, including taxes and fees.

Which Disney cruise is the cheapest?
When I started writing this guide, I had an idea of which Disney cruise was the cheapest.
However, I was wrong.
Even with over a decade of post Disney cruise prices, I was wrong.
I never thought.
It is a 7 night Alaska cruise.
15. May 2023 | Within | Outside | Veranda | Porter |

per night | $183 | $303 | $532 | 1.279 $ |
Well it is the cheapest nightly rate offered at the time of this writing, March 10, 2023.
That's a price of $183.36 per person per night for a Disney cruise to Alaska.
Yes, it is an inside stateroom, but there are many places on the Disney Wonder where you can enjoy the incredible Alaskan scenery rather than having a deck stateroom.
There is always a different Disney Cruise category that is usually the cheapest per night.

How to save money on a Disney cruise
Now that you have a rough idea of the price of a Disney cruise, you probably want to know how you can save some money.
We've written many guides on how to save money on a Disney cruise. This is a great place to start.
Proven tactics to save money on Disney cruises
As you have already seen, certain cruises are cheaper than others.
Sailing at specific times, such as early January, September and early December, generally lowers costs.
Your choice of stateroom category has a big impact on the cost of your Disney cruise.
This is most evident in Alaska cruise prices. Most people want a balcony, but you can save a lot of money if you're willing to sail with an inside cabin.
Here's a guide to get you really thinking about whether an inside stateroom on a Disney cruise is a good idea for you.

Disney Cruise Inside Stateroom: Is It For You?
One of the easiest ways to save money on a Disney cruise is to book a placeholder.
You can only do this by boarding a Disney cruise, but a $200 deposit entitles you to 10% off your next Disney cruise (not applicable to concierge bookings).
What is a placeholder and how can I save money with it?
You can also reserve a guaranteed cabin category.
Here you don't choose your exact cabin, just a category. So choose between an inside, outside or terrace cabin and book a guarantee.
This can save you a significant amount of money, but remember you don't have a choice when it comes to the location of your cabin.

What is a cabin guarantee and do I want one?
